Yes - The Prisoner - a British TV series, from 1967-68. About an agent who decides to retire from MI-6. Turns out, they were not happy with him retiring. At the start of every episode, they show him tendering his resignation, and jumping into his Seven, to drive away from headquarters. Parts of it are pretty campy (late 60's, after all), but it's not too bad. Suspension of disbelief was very big in the sixties - nobody thought it was odd to have a 'secret agent' swanning around in a Seven (or an Aston Martin). He was kidnapped (it's not clear by whom), and taken to a place they call 'The Village'. It's a strange, small village, possibly filled with other 'retirees'. In real life, that village was a town called Portmeirion. It's a village built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, and has been used as a location extensively in TV and movies. Back in 2011, Debbie and I visited there on vacation. If you're ever in North Wales, it's well worth a visit! --Bob Collum
