The events today were predictably light in attendance, in both locations. It was overcast this morning, with some rain threatening. Also, this was the first day of Daylight Savings, meaning that everybody lost an hour of sleep. Still, even with the smaller turnouts, the interesting cars & people that did show up made it worth the trip! --Bob Collum

Bob - is this a new event/location? Maybe replacing the old Kohl's event? What day/time? (I presume Sunday with the reference to DST.)

While no one event actually replaced Fair Lakes, some of us go to Dulles Landing (near the junction of 50 & 60, out in South Riding) early on Sunday mornings. I get there between 6:30AM and 7:00AM. It's a big lot, and a brand-new shopping center. After we lost the Fair Lakes venue, this has the advantage of being organized by one of the owners of the shopping center, Eric Zausner, who is a Car Guy, and a Katie's regular, as well. The center of this event is the Dunkin Donuts. Eric often brings his sophisticated Moal hotrods, and his friends bring out hotrods and old American muscle. The large lot lends itself to large groups of cars - lots of Jeeps, Mopars, Camaros, Corvettes, BMWs, you name it. A smattering of exotics, too. Around 8:30AM, I and several of my friends make the drive down to Fairfax Circle, for another C & C. This event is another result of the loss of Fair Lakes Cars & Coffee. Dino, the founder of this event, arranged thru a friend who is a Fairfax City Councilman to hold this event each Sunday. This is certainly not a great-looking venue, but the people are nice, and there are usually some nice cars. Additionally, the coffee place here, Camerons Coffee & Chocolates, has good food & drink, and is run by a local charity. Nice folks. This is a smaller get-together, but with a lot of variety. Dino might bring his Ford GT, or one of his Diablos, or a Baldwin-Motion Corvette. With the experience of losing a venue due to a few mis-behavers, the groups at these two locations are serious about quelling idiotic behavior at these events. I post pictures of the usually-present police there, to remind people to keep the silliness down. I expect that more and more cars will be showing up, as the weather gets better. --Bob Collum

That's a pretty wild interior! Especially loving the seats. They look comfortable.

I'm going to make it a point to show up to this event. I can't let Bob have all of the fun.
