It's that time of year again. I hit it last year as I couldn't make the Baltimore show, which I normally attend. Had heard that the DC show was only so-so; but what I saw last year was pretty decent. Jan 26th to Feb 4th Website: www.washingtonautoshow.com/Floor Plan/Map: www.washingtonautoshow.com/show-info/floor-maps/Looks like Jaguar Land Rover intend to dominate the real estate.

Hit it yesterday. Though no Lotus, of course, still lots to see. Fun show. And, while Alfa Romeo didn't even let folks walk around their cars much less sit inside (and the Giulia's been out for over a year), Jag Land Rover took people for drives around their INSIDE-the-convention-center courses. Had never seen anything like that. Lots of interest; long lines for that.
As today is the last day for the show, I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that Kia had a good display with its Stinger and that Lexus' LC500 was gorgeous inside. Interesting as well was that Aston Martin and McLaren both had cars in light blue and that a 720S was there, which, of course, looked sweet.
Photos coming soon.

Posting up some photos. Have you ever seen anything like this? I, personally, have not. An INDOOR course. Now, THAT is how you get people to appreciate your vehicles. Long line. I didn't figure out for sure if it was reps doing the driving or potential customers; but I was under the impression that, at least for the off-road demo, it was the customers. Jag was into the action, too, with it's E-Pace, the new and smaller version of the F-Pace. For the E-Pace, they had an indoor road course, complete with its own obstacles. For this one, I'm pretty sure that it was reps (or hired drivers) doing the demo-ing, with the customers going along for the ride. It was much higher speed with a slippery floor.

More photos from the show: Miata RF with folding hard top down: Miata RF with hard top up and lights on. Looks great! Though, there's less room inside than in an Elise! The obnoxious rear end of the Civic Type R. Mixed emotions from the public; but I personally think it’s a perfect look for a Type R: Type R interior: Kia Stinger. It's a lot larger in person than in the magazine photos: Stinger interior:

More photos. GT-R: GT3: LC500 Interior. Looks really nice from inside: BMW Alpina B6. First time seeing one of these for me was last year at a rest stop along the Jersey Turnpike. Whether you're a fan of BMW or not, this is just absolutely beautiful: Purple M4: i8: NSX:

More photos. BULLITT: Stelvio: Giulia. Gorgeous car. I don't know why Alfa Romeo choose to keep these on a platform and locked. They've been out for a year already. I test drove one earlier last year and it was great (though just too small for me for my daily needs). Really does handle quite well. And the interiors are beautiful. But sitting up there, people can't see it.

More photos: Until I saw this one, I always thought that the Countach looked best in white: Baby blue DB11 (I don't know the official color name): 720S. I need it: McLaren also in light blue. 570S, I think: Polaris Slingshot: Not quite sure what this is. Some sort of Ford perhaps? Apologies for the blurriness:

Loving that techno violet M!! I wish I could have got my hands on an aubergine Exige. That stinger is awesome, I wonder how it will wear. And I really want a Miata RF.
