Another new Evora, even more powerful. Almost seems as if Lotus is putting out new variants faster than Apple or Samsung is putting out new smartphones... ... but who cares! • 0-60 mph in 3.7 secs, 430 hp and 1,258 kg • 250kg of downforce at maximum speed of 190 mph Evora GT430

I love it! Not that I could afford one, but it is a shame they limited it to 60 units!

I love it! Not that I could afford one, but it is a shame they limited it to 60 units! It's OK -- if you scrape up the money, I'm sure they can make you one. Almost all car manufacturers have the same philosophy of 'limited edition' runs - limited to how many they can sell! Did you know that the Lotus factory can build you any of the cars they still have tooling for? We saw an Elan +2 (Type 50 - last produced in 1974) being built at Lotus when we toured the factory in 1993. It was up on an elevated stand near the Esprit production line, being put together as time allowed. Lotus is said to still have the fiberglass moulds for all their production road cars, with the exception of the Sevens and M100 Elans, since they sold those to Caterham and Kia, respectively. But -- if money is no object, they'd make you one of the models they still have moulds for! --Bob

If you ever have the need for a Type 72 (or any other historic Lotus race car), Classic Team Lotus is where you should look first. (CTL is run by Clive Chapman, Colin's son.) Here's their website - www.classicteamlotus.co.uk/en/home/They have the expertise and the talent to find and restore any old Lotus to show and track shape. They have the original Team Lotus documentation of the old cars. Among the skilled people working at CTL is Chief Mechanic Bob Dance. Bob, a regular at the yearly Lotus Owners Gatherings here in the U.S., has quite a resume. He worked at Team Lotus for all the great drivers - Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen. Below is a picture of Mr. Dance with Debbie, at the LOG in Orlando, in 2012. --Bob Collum
