GYLO - Get Your Lotus Out! Sunday, May 7th, 9:00am - 11:00am at the Katie's lower parking lot in Great Falls, VA. We have held this twice-yearly event since 2011, and have had over 30 Lotus show up to one of these get-togethers. It's quite a sight, and a great event to meet other Lotus people. (Last year, one couple drove in from Michigan for GYLO!) Not a concours, but more of a single-marque cars & coffee, this is a good opportunity to see a lot of Lotus, and talk with others who share your passion. We will have a popular-vote 'favorite Lotus' contest with prizes. Following GYLO we will caravan over to Dogfish Ale House in Chantilly for a casual outdoor lunch at a great brewpub. Lunch at dogfish will be 11:30. You certainly can join us there if you can't make the earlier event. Please RSVP for the lunch as we may need to make reservations in advance based on the size of our party. Please respond to this post if you plan on attending GYLO. ** Katie's is in Great Falls Village, at 760 Walker Rd, Great Falls, VA 22066. Enter Great Falls Village from 193 (Georgetown Pike) via the entrance between the US Post Office and the BB & T Bank. The fire department, across the street, faces this entry road. Great Falls Village is a circle. Drive around, and you will surely see us! --Bob Collum

Hi Bob, I am planning on attending GYLO but can't make lunch. To much to get done before LOG. We are bringing three Race cars with us to LOG and racing two in the races. One will be in the Museum for the weekend. Hopefully will bring my Elite to GYLO. Took it out for a drive today and its running great. Kevin McGovern

Britain-based website The Lotus Forums has declared Sunday, May 7th, 2017 to be International Lotus Day. Here is the release about their event: www.thelotusforums.com/latest-news/our-news/tlf-international-lotus-day-7th-may-2017-at-mbwbrooklands/Rather than considering this to be 'competition', we'll just say that, if you'll be in England that day, go to Brooklands and see 350 or more Lotus. If you're in the states, come to Katie's Coffee House (760 Walker Road, Great Falls, VA). We have plenty of room on Sundays, so let's all show them that we can get a large group of Lotus together, too. Our GYLO (Get Your Lotus Out) event runs twice a year, in Spring and Fall, and this is our 13th event. Come on out, with or without your Lotus, and see a lot of great cars, and meet a lot of interesting people. GYLO will run from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. We will have our now-traditional popular vote 'favorite Lotus' contest, with prizes. Mark Franke has also procured extra items that we will award via a drawing. We have a lunch planned afterwards at Dogfish Ale House in Greenbriar Shopping Center. If you are interested in going to this lunch, please RSVP with a headcount to Mark Franke - mfranke@cox.net Come on out to GYLO, and participate in the solemn observance of International Lotus Day! Well, the weather looked "iffy" for GYLO13 today, but it ended up just fine. We had clouds most of the morning, but it never rained during the event. We had 19 Lotus show up for GYLO 13, with one last straggler showing up just as I had to leave. The ruling from President Franke... "We'll allow it". So, 20 Lotus is the 'official' number of cars for GYLO 13. More importantly, we had some NoVA Lotus folks show up, even without their Lotus, and the variety of cars was great! We had an Elite, an Elan FHC (fixed head coupe), a Europa, 4 Esprits, plus Elises, Evoras, a couple of Exiges, and a Caterham 7. Thanks to all who came out to make this a fun day. Special thanks to those who donated door prizes. Once again, Mark Franke proved his worth by getting lots of donations of prizes for attendees... Mark is definitely the heart & soul of NoVA Lotus. Which makes me, if I am not mistaken, the bladder... Before I forget... the 'Favorite Lotus' contest winners... 1st - Kevin McGovern's pristine Elite. 2nd - Gavin Slade's amazing Seven. 3rd - Ivan Katz's very original Europa. --Bob Collum

Bob/Mark - great event. I always like the variety over the quantity. Seems to be something new every time. I personally was pleased to see three G-body Esprits, along with Bob's S4.
