Now that Euromotorcars Lotus has closed, has anyone found an experienced independent Elise/Exige mechanic in Norther Virginia, hopefully near Alexandria?

What are you looking for? D and V Autobody in Sterling has bodywork experience, and RRT is right next to them and is often recommended. You've also got PTuning in Manassas. Pohanka, now Caliber Collision near Del Ray is now referred to as Pojanky in my house, so I highly do not recommend them if you are ever getting insurance bodywork. It's a long story that eventually lead to my immobilizer getting fried.
90% of projects though can be handled by people in the area. These cars are basically a giant erector set anyways and are pretty straightforward to work on for most of the common issues.

cyow5 - thanks for the body shop recommendations. I trailer'd my 2005 Elise 1,200 miles during a move and due to some miscommunication while unloading, I seared off some of the body work on the front clamshell between the driver's tire and the grill. I can take care of it with insurance and replace the whole clam (while also nicely taking care of the dings which have occurred since 2005 or I suppose pay for it myself so there'd be no accident on the Carfax. Any recommendations? Also, if anyone has experience in aftermarket bodywork let me know. If I have to replace the front anyway, I was considering going with the Exige look: www.eliseparts.com/products/show/14/1407/s2-exige-front-clamshell/
