Sunday, April 24th, 2016 at Gunston Hall Plantation. Show field opens at 9:30AM, awards presentation 2:30PM - 3:00PM. The first big all-British car show of the year, it's as much a social event as anything. We would like to get a large contingent of Lotus at this year's event, as a way of kicking off our season. It is important to have a good number of people register in advance, in order to secure a separate class for Lotus cars. Otherwise, we have to share space (and trophies) with other 'miscellaneous' vehicles. Let us know if you plan on attending! The link to the site is below, and includes the registration form and instructions. (Pro Tip: The Glahns make these events a real party!)

I have a race on the 23rd, so this might be a possibility.

Tim is absolutely right! We'd like to get a great turnout to this, the first NoVA Lotus event of the season... If we have enough Lotus cars signed up, we can qualify as a group of our own for trophies, instead of being in competition with all the other 'miscellaneous' vehicles. (Really, do you want to be fighting the British armored car for a trophy?) Tim & Jenn will be bringing a pop-up to set up as a gathering place for the Lotus people, and we will have NoVA Lotus signage. Please be sure to indicate your affiliation with NoVA Lotus when you sign up for Britain on the Green.
We hope to see A LOT of you there! [Bring chairs to sit on!] Gunston Hall is at 10709 Gunston Road in Lorton, VA.

I registered. Looks like a nice show. I wonder if I will be the only orange Elise there, they are so common.

From my records this morning, we SHOULD have enough cars (if the people I heard from have registered) to have our own class, with our own trophies. Right now, I show 9 Lotus as having RSVP'd to me. If you haven't registered, please do so. We're going to have a good turnout of Lotus this year. Here's the link for registering - motosho.com/event/56b57671ad04cRegistration is $35. I'm planning on good weather, as I registered with the Seven, and it will not be pleasant driving in the rain! --Bob Collum Below is Mark Franke, making good his escape from Gunston Hall, after the 2013 BoG event...

We had an amazing day at Britain on the Green. We had 7 Lotus pre-registered, so we qualified as our own category, for trophies. All in all, we had 13 Lotus at the show, for show attendees to vote on. We had 6 models of Lotus represented, and as good a representation of the marque as you will find. What a great group of people, too! We had Todd Howes and his wife come all the way up from Hampton Roads, in their black Esprit. Victor Montes had his Europa overheat on the way, but came to the show without it. The Yows showed up Lotus-less, but with their Corgi puppy, Enzo, in tow. Jenn & Tim Glahn got to the field early (with their Lotus-Volvo support vehicle), and set up their pop-up purple tent. Stocked well with food and soft drinks, it became the center of our activities. Mark Franke brought the club signs he had made up, and we had a real club presence at the meet! Here's how the voting in our class went: 1st place: Jenn & Tim Glahn's Elan 2nd place: Brian Flynn's Europa 3rd place: Rashid Hedges' Elise Honorable mention: Sharon & Bob Scates' Esprit All in all, a great day. It's a great bunch of people, several with their dogs, having a great day out amongst the beautiful British cars. I hope to see these people, and more, at GYLO (Get Your Lotus Out) on Sunday, May 1st at Katie's lower parking lot.
