Our annual planning meeting, to be held Sunday, March 5th, starting at 11:30AM at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton, VA - www.paradisespringswinery.com/HomeWe visited this winery back in 2015, and it's a nice place. We will stake out some space on the patio, and talk about what events to do as a group during 2017. You can bring lunch, an you can buy wine there. If you cannot make it to the planning meeting, please email us any event ideas you have. We have already posted about the CCC track day at Summit Point on 4/13/17, Britain on the Green on 4/30/17, and the Lotus Owners Gathering in Birmingham, AL from 5/18/17 thru 5/22/17. Keep in mind that you can post up a spur-of-the-moment drive on this website, any time you like. As it becomes more of a habit for members, this can be very useful.

A reminder - the NoVA Lotus planning meeting will be held Sunday, 3/5/17, at 11:30AM. The location is - Paradise Springs Winery 13219 Yates Ford Rd. Clifton, VA 20124 Annie will get there early to reserve some space. If you cannot make the meeting, but have an event you'd really like to see a large group of us attend, send us an email, or post on this thread. You can bring your own food, or buy food at the winery. Here's what their website says: We offer a vast array of cheeses, meats, breads, soup, crackers, peanuts, chocolates, and other snack type foods available for purchase. Due to health department regulations, all of our food offerings are prepackaged with disposable utensils or provided by a caterer. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic so long as the food items fit at the table being occupied (no dedicated food tables or buffet stations). No Coolers allowed inside the Tasting Room and Back Deck. Non-alcoholic drinks such as soda, and water are available for designated drivers.
No outside alcohol is permitted on premises. Only Paradise Springs wines are legally allowed to be consumed on premise. Any outside alcohol found will be confiscated and you may be asked to leave. We worked hard to earn our license and don't want to lose it! Please be respectful.
We hope to see you there! --Bob Collum

A great and productive planning meeting today! I counted 14 attendees, including two new people, Gavin and Edward. We already have a good number of activities on the club calendar, and we have a couple more that will be on the calendar soon. We also voted, and decided that it is not necessary to continue publishing newsletters every 2 months - we are asking members to post articles on the website, and to use the website to propose events. This assumes members will check the website on a regular basis. This should work very well for impromptu drives, since you can post a suggestion under Forums, in Group Drives & Destinations, and see if anyone wants to go. If a couple of people reply they want to go, you go. It only gets more complicated if you are going to someplace that requires reservations - that's when having people RSVP is important. Expect to see us do several impromptu 'drives to lunch' several times this year. We have a request to send out a tutorial on how to use the website - we will see if we can send an email out with the basics. Got a question or comment? Send an email to robert(underscore)collum(at)hotmail(dot)com NoVA Lotus
