A note from Mark Franke:
Folks,
I hope everyone is coping well with the current healthcare crisis.
Two of our favorite club members, Jen and Tim Glahn, are moving out of the area at the end of next week. They have been hosting parties at their house for us for years. We’d like to do a quick drive over to their house this week. Wednesday , May 20th at lunchtime seems good for many of us. We can meet at Blue Iguana and drive by Tim and Jen‘s house. We will leave the Blue Iguana lot at 11:45AM. We may sit out front on chairs socially distance and wish them well. (Bring your own food, drink and chair.) Please email us to let us know if you are planning on coming, so we can judge the crowd.
Thanks to Bob and Kevin for putting virtual car event together. Staying connected is what binds us through tough times.
Mark Franke

Get Your Lotus Out! (…and take its picture)
The current state of affairs in the Northern Virginia area means that we will have to change the format of our 19th Get Your Lotus Out event. GYLO 19 is scheduled for Sunday, May 31st, and the date will remain the same. We will, however, make this a ‘virtual’ affair – we do not want to risk the health of our members, and their loved ones.
Please attach a picture of your Lotus (or Lotus memorabilia), and email it to me, at: Robert_collum@hotmail.com. If you have a Lotus that has not seen the light of day for a while, submit a picture – if we have good participation, we can have a ‘Temporarily Off the Road’ category. We will assemble and categorize the entries, and put them on our website. We have a very good website (thanks to Kevin McCracken!), so we will use it to enable everyone to vote for their favorite in each category. You can send as many as three photos per car – we will choose one for the voting thread. Please let me know the year & model of your Lotus, when you send the picture.
Photo submissions can start on Sunday, May 17th. We will accept entries until midnight Monday, May 25th. Voting will be available on our website, from Tuesday, May 26h thru Friday, May 29th. If you don’t already have it, you will need to get a login ID on the NoVA Lotus website, in order to vote. Let me know if you need help with registering, logging in, or sending pictures to me. Here’s a link to the website:

There will be prizes in several categories, so be sure to get your pictures in. We will tally up votes on Saturday, May 30th, and will announce winners on a Zoom video conference call Sunday, May 31st, at 1:00PM (just when we’d be announcing at the venue, if the GYLO was in-person!) Zoom is a pretty easy-to-use way of getting a lot of people together, and Zoom supports PCs, Macs, iPads, iPhones and Android phones. If anyone has not done a Zoom conference, let me know, and I will set up a test with you, well before GYLO. For those who cannot participate on the Zoom call, we will post winners on the NoVA Lotus website, soon after the call. We will arrange to get prizes to winners when we can get together again, soon.
