This event has been postponed to August 5th thru 9th, 2020.
07/16/20: According to the sponsoring body, Vintage Racers Group, the 2020 Jefferson 500 Weekend has been cancelled.
For decades the Jefferson 500 has been not only one of the marquee events at Summit Point but one of the "must see" events in motorsports. Exciting vintage racing has always been at the heart of this weekend but the 'festival' type atmosphere that surrounded the on track action has been just as important. Earlier this week the state of West Virginia revised their Covid guidelines and as a result much of what was planned for the Jefferson 500 is no longer permitted. In light of these guideline revisions Summit Point Motorsports Park and VRG (Vintage Racer Group) must cancel this year's Jefferson 500. Originally scheduled for May we worked with multiple event organizers to move the date to August, hoping that the Covid restrictions would be more flexible by then. The Jefferson 500 will return to it's traditional May date in 2021 and this fall's VRG Turkey Bowl is still on as scheduled. Summit Point remains open to participants and crew and at this time all other events remain on the calendar as scheduled.
