Claimed range per gallon of water was around 111 miles!
Meyer claimed his vehicle was able to travel 180 km. With just 4 litres of water, and nothing else. Forty-five kilometres with just a litre of something that cost hardly anything must have sounded truly magical. And that’s exactly when his troubles started.
I'm not sure that anyone but Kevin (KSM) and I even look at these posts... Oh, well - here is a clip from outtakes from one of my favorite all-time movies, Planes, Trains & Automobiles. This is a scene where Neal and Del arrive at their crappy motel room, with Room '111', across the hall! We try to watch this movie every Thanksgiving. I just ordered the 'deleted scenes' special Blu-Ray!
Here's the link to buy the Blu-Ray disc, with the deleted scenes:
P.S.: A tidbit I just learned - Elton John was scheduled to write a song or two for the movie, but the production company (Paramount) insisted on some details that they could not work out, contractually. While I like Elton John, I cannot imagine this movie without the last scene, freeze-framing John Candy, and playing the Paul Young hit, 'Every Time You Go Away' (complete with cheesy electric sitar). I tear up, every time!
