A guy that works with my wife created this Lego model, of the plane they are working on. He bought various parts from Lego, and created this one-off model - pretty cool! Several years ago, Debbie and I built this 'official' Lego model of the Seven:We have some really talented people in the club. Can anyone make a custom Lego model of their Lotus?

--Bob Collum For the plane, I initially though your wife's co-worker got Lego to mass produce it. Either way, cool project! I remember the Seven model when that came out. Also quite cool. And I wonder how many unique pieces it has, pieces that you just won't find across any other set. I myself haven't tried to make a Lego Lotus, but when I was a kid I used jet engine pieces from an airplane set to make Luke Skywalker's Land Speeder.

I stumbled upon this listing and didn't know this model was ever made: 1:43 scale Elise with a removable soft top. And biscuit seats (vs. the standard all black). Quite interesting: www.ebay.com/itm/203099675156

Acquired this from my local Wal-Mart yesterday (even though the Lego website still says available (at least for Lego's own website) March 1):

Cool thread! I don't have my Elise anymore, but I started a collection of 1/43 models, specifically Senna's F1 cars -- the first two I had to get were Lotus: the '85 Lotus 97T with John Player Special livery and the '87 Lotus 99T (usually Camel but they ran the Lotus livery at races with strict tobacco laws).

Photographed the two nicely-detailed Elan models that I picked up from the vendor at GYLO23:

Someone just coming back from Japan brought me THIS, which they got from a shop in Akihabara in Tokyo. It's a glue-together model that comes in plain white. But Tamiya provides the paint codes for doing the body in red or green:

An unexpected Hot Wheels find. I didn't know they made this color, and I had only seen the green and yellow one:
