Looking for a fun fall weekend? Consider entering the Adams County Road Rally. Not a race but a rally. Teams will be given instructions to complete the rally, visit some great stops along the way. Past stops have included fly fishing, pumpkin bowling, vineyards, manufacturing plant tours, agricultural stops and even an exotic animal rescue. At the end point of the rally enjoy a light meal, special prizes and chatting with fellow drivers. We have run the rally in both our vintage cars and daily drivers. It is always a good time. Gettysburg is an easy 90 minute drive from Northern Virginia and all proceeds go to help preserve the land in Adams County. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either myself or Tim at jmeck38@cox.net

Arrrrgh. Only 45 minutes away from my house and I've got a conflict that I must attend.

Arrrrgh. Only 45 minutes away from my house and I've got a conflict that I must attend. Isn't that what we have an Army for? Let them go to the conflict and that will free you up for the rally:)

If any of you have attended this before I'd love your feedback. I'm wondering if it would be fun for my kids to join me in (of course with a chase car for the rest of the fam). I've never done anything like this and really don't know what to expect. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi all, It is a great family event and open to all types of cars. Tim and I have run it in the Elan, BMW and the trusty Volvo's in years when the weather wasn't cooperating. The drive starts at a fun/informative/historic place (different each year) and you follow a set of directions to the end point. There is a scavenger hunt of sorts along the way - looking for road/advertising signs, counting the number of rail road tracks, and similar activities as you navigate the rally course. There are typically three to five stops along the way that involve fun activities (different each year) - pumpkin bowling, fly fishing, bubble gum blowing or visiting a local business. The directions also include Adams County historic, agricultural and preservation information. At the end point (different each year) - it has been at a barn and the country club and a vineyard and everything in between - you turn in the scavenger hunt for potential prizes. There is typically a light meal and drinks, a silent auction and great story telling at the end point. So a great drive through some really lovely PA back roads, unique stops and benefits a good cause. Feel free to contact me directly at jmeck38@cox.net if I can offer any other insight.
Kiddos? It's a long day but it is a fun day. Since it is not a race, you can head to the end point at any time after a set time (2pm'ish) if the natives are getting restless.
Driving this in a Mini would be a blast.
Tim and I have "sponsored" a team for NoVA Lotus - so if you do sign up, no matter the car, please be sure to mention NoVA Lotus.
Make a weekend and visit some of the local breweries/vineyards or see the battlefield or apple picking. Lots to do in and around Gettysburg.

If only my car was comfortable enough to do a rally.

I saw there is a registration deadline. I'm assuming they won't take any more people now? Never done anything like this but it sounded like a blast. Oh and if I can get registered does one team of four equate to two cars with two people?
