It's a bit early, but this is going to take awhile. I'm completely stripping off every layer of paint from the doors, sills, trunk lid, roof, and roll hoop, and buying a new front clam, rear clam, and other panels. I'm doing all the fiberglass work and sanding then it will be off to a paint shop to get resprayed correctly this time. The amount of sub-par work I have uncovered so far is astonishing, so I am hoping to knock out everything and be left with a decent looking car. I'm tired of finding things like a washer that fell into the epoxy or where they didn't bother to remove the doors for paint but couldn't get the spray gun into the jambs. !! So far all I can "afford" to do is: coilover refresh wheel refresh Repairs from tire wall incident, which is all cosmetic: peel off 12 year old clear bra (hopefully the paint stays put!) get bolt on fenders repaired/replaced new clear bra If I win the lottery or decide to give my credit card the middle finger: REV 300/310 You saw the results of my old shocks, so I already have SA Nitrons sitting beside the car, haha. Pretty sure the fact that my LSS shocks' bumpstops are completely disintegrated is why my splitter scraped, but I figured I'd upgrade rather than replace. It's funny, I can stripp all the aftermarket paint of my car with gel stripper, but the OE paint is hanging on with a vengeance. It is crazy how much better it is adhered, so hopefully you won't have a problem. My vinyl wrap stone guards did remove some of my paint when I pulled them after just two years.

Hmmm winter projects again...
1. Replace wheel studs and nuts 2. Install datalogging sensors 3. Wire in the cool suit 4. Get rid of the check engine lights 5. Get rid of the airbag light 6. Redesign the diffuser 7. Buy new tires 8. Get the car detailed 9. Learn how to tune the suspension 10. Possible build/ purchase a 3D scanner 11. Learn how to design aero/ pay someone to do it
I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking of at the moment.

I have a very similar list:
1. New studs and nuts are already on 2. Find out how to talk to my oil temp/press gauge and set the alarms 3. I wish 4. Add the charcoal canister I bought from Greg and put my old O2 sensors back in. 5. One problem I don't have anymore, haha 6. Just finished adding some turning vanes to the middle 3/5 tunnels since they had an abrupt edge. I've also scuffed everything and will be repainting it when it warms up. 7. New tires once we are on the warmer side of winter so I don't have to worry about the temp in the garage dropping 8. Just got some more sandpaper. Now that things are normalizing with the baby I should be able to really dive in and strip the rest of the paint. I've also been doing a deep clean on the rest of the car. New clams should be shipping out to me any day, so I am aiming to schedule paint time early next year.

Had to take some time off from working on the car because of the new kid, but I finally got back in the garage last evening: New clams should also be in transit soon, so I am excited to do the first test fit!

I hate peeling oranges sometimes. My completed list: "Paid" for a wing I'm going to avoid asking why there are quotes around "paid"... I was able to get a clean edge where there was all the new paint on the clam next to the original yellow - 0.65mm thick of added paint. No wonder my doors rubbed since that's almost 1.5mm of reduced gap between any two panels!

Made some more progress. Both doors have been started, so I am hoping to get about 75% of each panel by the end of this week. New clams should be in by Friday, too! Attachments:

I removed the fenders, now I just need to get them to the repair shop, I removed 95% of the clear bra, I was extremely lucky that it came right off. I just need to remove my splitter to get to the portion of the bra that it covers. I will be removing the suspension this weekend and try to find a time to get it to RRT for a rebuild.
The currently plan is once I get the fenders and suspension back, reinstall and get it to Proform for new paint protection. Once that comes back, I'll take the wheels of and send them to bogart for minor offset changes, new hardware and powdercoat.

Got some more progress! Just about done with the passenger's side and then on to the driver's side. When I removed the glass from the door, I found that the guides were completely dislodged; no wonder I had an impossible time in the past trying to align the window gaps. Once all the paint is stripped off, the fun begins - patching and smoothing the fiberglass.

Dropped the Ohlins off at RRT on Tuesday... judging by my lack of funds and time, I think the car will be ready late March early april, I'll miss a couple events, but they are usually too cold to enjoy anyways.

Yeah... It is depressing seeing some of the track days being posted so far and how much more work I have ahead of me. I'm pretty tempted to just get some track wheels/tires for the Mini
