A picture with a story - at the Lotus Owners Gathering in St. Louis, (LOG 25) in 2005, Lotus Cars USA was to introduce the Exige to the USA. They got the car into the lower level of the hotel, but ran into a problem - how to get this small car turned around in a narrow hallway. In the end, it took 7 or 8 of us (Debbie, who took this picture, helped), and we had to remove some hotel ballroom doors. We sprayed the marble floors with Windex, to help us slide the tires sideways. (We had been SEVERELY warned by the hotel, not to start the engine indoors. We were trying to get the car into the ballroom, and under a cover, before the hotel guys came back!)
You can't tell, but that's me, sitting in the first Exige imported to the USA by LCU.

^Just sitting in the first USA-imported Exige is a great story all by itself. Both: (1) helping to set up its initial USA display and (2) doing so by maneuvering it within a small hotel hallway makes it even more awesome!

Yeah, I somehow think that [insert the car company of your choice] doesn't have this kind of logistical problems! --Bob Collum

Last night, Debbie asked me if the Elise was 'ready' for her to take it out to work in Manassas. I said it was, but took the 15 minutes to remove the hard top, for maximum fun. Early this morning, she asked, "what about taking the Seven today?" I had to scramble down to the garage, to pull off the passenger-side tonneau (I, personally, like the 'monoposto' look), and find the passenger-side headrest. Oh, and vacuum out the impressive collection of tiny rocks that collect in the seats. (The front tires are, mostly, a conveyor belt for small pea-gravel, into the seats.) Debbie looked really cool, and was having a great time. I looked like a dork, in a suit, with a backpack in my lap. The first picture is of Debbie, dropping me off at Metro at 5:10AM. The second is her, proving to me that she got to her work in one piece. --Bob Collum

While heading out of my neighborhood for a quick drive on this crystal clear evening, I spotted a couple of balloons:
