We have been contacted to gauge interest in a dual-purpose event (think Goodwood Festival of Speed, but much smaller), with an HPDE event for those wanting to do a little track work (not a full-on track day), and a car show for everybody. CCC is Colonial Challenge Cup, and they'd like to see if we are interested in having Lotus as the featured marque. A couple of the people who were involved in the HPDE event at Summit Point, just before LOG, are involved in helping plan this event.
1. To attend for the day and show your Lotus there should be no charge or fee associated. There would also be lunch time parade laps that everyone could do at highway speeds and with no helmets required.
2. To attend for the day, display your Lotus, AND stay for the reception which includes food and beverages... the cost is $25. This fee is for a catered BBQ with drinks that costs $25 for all participants. It is not required and purely optional to attend the reception.
3. The early bird fee to drive at the track day event is $275; $299 for regular enrollment.
We will keep you apprised, as we learn more!

Hi Mark & Bob & Everyone,
I just registered and will be bringing my 05 Silver Elise to the CCC track day. For those who have not been, Summit Point is great. I encourage people to come either for the track event or just the parade laps and reception/etc. It will be fun for first-timers and experts and everyone in-between.
Hope to see you there,
Gary Davis
ps - For a good intro to track days at Summit Point, feel free to read the article in ReMarque VOL 48 #6, starting on page 14. (I know you do not throw them away, so get to that secret library and read-up!)

Hi All, I will also be there instructing at this track event with Lotus as the featured marque. I hope to see others either on track or to show & display, do the parade laps, and just hang out. Here is the text of an email I received about the event with more information. Best. After all, we are car enthusiasts and always have the ability to look beyond the immediate horizon.....please excuse the pun. But the reality is that the next CCC Track Day is under 12 weeks away and already we have nearly 50 signed up including instructors. The Advanced run group has 19 signed up out of a maximum of +/- 28. We are delighted to announce that the marque for the event is Lotus and we welcome Lotus Ltd, the largest Lotus Car Club in North America to our event. For any Lotus owner who is not a member, there will be a special area in the paddock for you to park and show your car at no charge. There is no need to register in advance, but for those who are not members of Lotus Ltd, please drop us an email and let us know in advance. Lotus cars will also be the lead in the parade lap. For those Lotus drivers who want to track their car, they should sign up on the link below. We always welcome new and old friends of the CCC Track day, but in answer to one question, the event will be held on the Main Track as usual. All the CCC Team wish you the best for the season and a happy and healthy New Year. The local Aston dealer had some of their wares there. They brought out an Aston racecar, along with their hotshoe, and they sold rides on the track, for charity. (None of us went.) As always, at the track... lots of interesting cars! --Bob Collum

Brings fond memories of racing my SCCA EP class Europa at Summit, back in the day. 🥰 This shot is approaching the Carousel.
