Here is the invitation to the 20th (!) annual summer party, put on by local Lotusphiles, Kevin & Denise McGovern. This started out, 20 years ago, as a get-together for the local DC Lotus Club. It has morphed into a beautiful gathering of interesting vehicles of all types. We've been going for more than 16 years, and it's a great setting, and a terrific party. Remember to RSVP to the McGoverns, and plan to go - NoVA Lotus will put together a group drive from the Fair Oaks area, details lower in this thread....20th Annual Lotus Summer Party Place: Kevin and Denise McGovern’s Date: Saturday, Aug 27 Rain date: Sunday, Aug 28 Time: 2:00pm- 7:00pm R.S.V.P.: 410- 964- 1459 or 410 370 7255 (cell) kevinmcgov@aol.com Come and enjoy a swimming pool, tennis court, and friends. It was on loan from the Barber Collection in Alabama, for the party last year!

Make a left onto Harpers Farm Rd. At the third light Harpers Farm Rd becomes Homewood Rd. stay straight. Follow the direction from * For those using Google Directions: If you are instructed to turn on Castlebridge Rd do not turn. Instead go to the next right turn which is my driveway and turn into driveway and follow it to the house at the end of the drive. A few more pictures from the 2015 McGovern Summer Party. Who recognizes the couple perusing my Seven?

The 20th annual McGovern party will be held Saturday, August 27th, from 2:00PM to 7:00PM. Every year, Kevin and Denise McGovern invite their Lotus friends (and other car-people-friends) over to their place in suburban Ellicott City. They put up a big tent with tables and chairs under it, and we park our interesting cars on their large lawn. They bring in barbecue for the party. In short, they throw a heckuva party. In order to make sure they have enough food, they ask that anyone who would like to attend RSVP directly to Kevin, with a headcount of your group: kevinmcgov@aol.com (If you cannot get there in your Lotus, there is separate parking for the non-interesting cars.) There is always a good number of Lotus at this party (it started out as a DC Lotus Club event), but has become a magnet for all types of interesting cars. NoVA Lotus will do a group drive up to the McGovern party on August 27th, leaving from the Blue Iguana parking lot (12727 Shoppes Ln, Fairfax, VA) at 1:15PM. The McGoverns are at - 11356 Homewood Rd. Ellicott City, Md. Here are some pictures from previous year parties... --Bob Collum

Looking forward to this and seeing everyone. Last year was the first year I could make it. Great party. I'm relatively close by and will be driving directly there from my place.

Sara and I will be coming from MD, so we won't make the group drive, but we will be at the party.

We had a caravan of 4 cars at Blue Iguana, driving up to the party. My wife Debbie led in our Elise, followed by Duncan Black with his two sons in their Jaguar XJ, and Caleb and Jessica Yow in their Elise, with me in my Seven. Traffic was bad, and it was hot, but we made it.
While at the party, we saw Tyler Pepin and his wife, as well as Alan Schulman and his wife. Kevin McKracken was there when we arrived. Jaime Gershowitz and Stacey were there, as well.
Who have I missed?

Here are some pictures of the cars there, to give an idea of the scope of the field...

No shortage of Sevens, either! (Below - Kevin's, Norm's, and somebody I just met, from Maryland. Mine was there, too...)
