We have decided on the date and venue for GYLO 15, the Spring 2018 edition of our Get Your Lotus Out event. We have been holding these events since 2011, and it's another good excuse to socialize with other Lotus owners, and see some nice cars. T he date: Sunday, 05/20/18 Start time: 11:00AM
NoVA Lotus member Ed Ellison and his wife have generously offered up their home to host this event, and manage a cookout, as part of GYLO.
The venue: 41727 Rosemont Place Leesburg, VAWe ask that members bring a side dish or dessert for the cookout. Mark Franke is already in motion, contacting sponsors to make sure there are prizes available for a drawing for attendees. This is purely a social event, but we certainly encourage NoVA Lotus members to organize drives, before or after the cookout, to make the most of what we hope is a beautiful day with your Lotus! --Bob Collum

I spoke to Ed Ellison - he has several acres of space, and only a handful of houses on his street - parking will be plentiful, and so will the food. Ed is firing up the barbecue, and hoping for a record turnout of club members and cars! I'll be sending out a reminder email, tonight or tomorrow. Please let me know the head count if you're coming - we want to be prepared. If you can't bring you Lotus, bring your list of excuses, but COME ON OUT!

I just checked with Ed Ellison - the GYLO party at his house is a 'go', rain or shine. If you can bring your Lotus, please do. If wet weather or roads are a problem (I'm not likely to drive my Seven!), bring any car, but come on out to socialize with NoVA Lotus - a really nice bunch of folks!
Our hosts, Ed & Bev Ellison, will have the Lotus flag out. Ed will be barbequing. There is plenty of pavement parking, and plenty of space for everyone, even if we have to go inside. Their address is -
41727 Rosemont Place Leesburg, VA Starting time ~11:00AM.
You can drive directly there, or some of us will caravan up from our traditional starting place, the front of the Blue Iguana parking lot, at 12727 Shoppes Ln, Fairfax, VA. We will leave the Blue Iguana parking lot at 10:30AM.
Please RSVP to this post, so we know how much food to prepare, and please bring a side or dessert to share.
This time, GYLO might stand for 'Get Your Lotus Outboard'!

I'll be there. Though, maybe not in the Elise given the distance from my house and rain potential; but count me in!

Sorry for late response, Tyler reminded me last night. I may be dropping by depending on when my appointment wraps up! You don't have to account for me for the food.
Thanks, Alex Nguyen

Several of us met at The Blue Iguana, to caravan up to Leesburg - Mark Franke, me, Bob Scates (though he could not make it to GYLO), Jenn & Tim Glahn, and Greg and Thuy Smoak.
Thanks to Ed and Bev Ellison, for opening their beautiful home to us for GYLO 15. The statistics: we had 8 Lotus, and 14 people in attendance. It had rained all week long, but you could not tell it at Casa Ellison. The streets were dry and clean... but, it was VERY HUMID out! We spent most of our time in the finished basement, and it was very comfortable. Plenty of food, and everyone got comfortable, right away.
Ed Ellison won the Favorite Lotus contest for his silver Evora, but I think everyone 'won' something, as Dr. Franke did his magic, getting us a lot of door prizes. (I think he may be stealing some of these items!) Tyler Pepin was kind enough to contribute a bunch of diecast models of Lotus. Contributors to the GYLO prize cache were -

Thanks to these folks for their generous support of our club!
