Once in a while, one of my friends will send me a photo of a Lotus that they've just spotted. Perhaps your friends do the same. Well, yesterday, not just one but TWO friends each independently sent me a photo and each from a different country outside of North America. Spotted yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Spotted yesterday at the Keukenhof gardens in Holland:

Here's not an actual sighting but a photo of a nice Elan that a friend of mine spotted in an ad in a Delhi, India, mall just a few hours ago! Quite cool:

Thanks, KSM! Debbie & I are back from our trip to Australia & New Zealand. I never saw any Lotus there, but did pass by two dealers - Simply Sports Cars in both Sydney and Melbourne - but we went by after hours, and didn't stop.
They seem to like American muscle cars in both AUS & NZ, and the new Mustangs were almost common on the roads. I also saw a couple of new Camaros, but was told they had to be converted to righthand drive to be legal. (The Mustang's latest model is the first available as RHD from the factory.) Saw several Ferraris and Lamborghinis in Melbourne during the Australian Open tennis tournament. Saw several more (along with a Viper!) in Auckland, NZ. Finally, in a small town in NZ - Rotorua - I went for a walk with Debbie, after lunch, and saw this...

It's a Seven knock-off, called a Fraser. Made in Auckland, NZ.
Oh... we took a boat out to Weiheke island, off of Auckland, NZ. On the boat ride over, two couples sat across from us. Debbie started talking to them (because she's the sociable one...). In short order, one of the women mentioned that her husband is into cars. As it turns out, he has a red S1 Elise! He has raced it throughout Australia, and has more recently been running it in professional rallies, including Targa Tasmania. He and his friend are also into Alfas (they have about 8 Alfas between them.) Small world! We spent the day with them, and had a great time!
