I got 'em! A few of us met at the Blue Iguana parking lot, to do a group drive to McGovern's. Debbie and I drove separately, and Annie was there when we arrived. Jeffrey Hammer and his son Henry brought Mark Franke's Esprit - Mark had to work, at the last minute. A friend and neighbor of mine, Pete, tagged along in his Beck Spyder, a beautiful Porsche re-creation. We had a nice drive up in what has to be the best weather ever for this event! --Bob Collum

I didn't get a count, but I would swear that there were as many Esprits in attendance as there were Elises! --Bob Collum

NoVA Lotus At Work: That's Caleb Yow, demonstrating to Annie that her Esprit's chin spoiler needs to present a clean surface to the air flow - very important for 120mph-plus grocery runs! Annie, Jessica, and Debbie look on, bemused. In the background, Kevin McKracken (our beloved webmaster) is taking pictures of another car. We met up with Gavin Slade (in his Seven), along with his wife, Sarah, and his two children, at the venue. (No, they didn't all pack into the Seven!) --Bob Collum

That is huge by any standard. An interesting side note to the party on Saturday. Jeffrey Hammer came up with a count of 9 Esprits at the party. I checked my pictures, and only counted 7 Elises and 1 Exige, so that would mean that, even 'cheating' by including the white Exige, the Elises were outnumbered by the Esprits. Further investigating, I see 4 or 5 Evoras, too. Looks like we're finally in a place that having a bunch of Lotus show up to an event doesn't automatically mean a bunch of Elises! And, it means we Elise/Exige owners need to step up our game in time for GYLO on Sept. 17 - novalotusclub.freeforums.net/thread/262/gylo-14I love variety at GYLO events, but let's make sure Elises are well represented! After all, it's far and away the volume product from Hethel to date! The Elise and variants surely saved Lotus. --Bob Collum

There were a lot of Esprits there! It was great! And, also great... of all the Elises, mine was, surprisingly, the only orange one!

Seriously though, I wish the events didnt conflict. The McGovern's are great hosts. Last year was great despite the heat, yesterday's weather was perfect!
