It's never too early to plan for a Lotus Owners Gathering, or LOG. This annual event is sponsored by Lotus, LTD, the national club. It is organized and run by local groups, on a volunteer basis. For 2017, it will be in Birmingham, Alabama. Why Birmingham? Home to Barber Motorsports Park, an excellent track, the park includes a museum with the largest collection of Lotus cars in the world. (They also have a huge collection of various motorcycles.) LOG 37 will include a day of historic Lotus racing, an opportunity to drive your Lotus (including street models) on the Talladega Superspeedway, as well as a full track day at Barber's track, and an autocross nearby. I have been to LOGs at Birmingham twice, and have been looking forward to going again! Here is the brand-new LOG 37 website: www.lotusownersgathering.com/Below are some pictures of our previous LOGs in Birmingham. Note that Debbie got to drive our Elise on the banked oval at Talladega - we were in the 'slower' group, and she got us up to 95mph. I was told that the faster group had people who got up to around 130mph. (You'd hope that everybody checked their tires pressures beforehand, huh?) --Bob Collum
